Nothing new

So recently started working at a bar after years of NOT being behind a bar.  I forgot how much I missed it.

Mobilty

Having been away from my blog for a long time, I can now update a little more often thanks to the mobile app I just installed.  Hurray!    Not like I used it much to begin with, but I have it active again.

It's coming soon....

Well, I'm starting a countdown for the Premier of Season 4 Battlestar Galactica April 4.
SciFi.com/battlestar has an awesome, catch up to season 4 in 8 minutes, that for anyone who has watched the show up to now will find hilarious, and others will find extremely informative, almost to the point of sensory overload. The site also has an awesome picture of the main characters in a last supper pose, but I found a high resolution version here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2308/2255100424_bd06e18eee_o.jpg
I saved it, since I am such a fan of the show. Feel free to click and travel over there to see it, if you are a fan of Battlestar Galactica.
Also, I am very happy lately. I've been speaking with an active from the fraternity that I was in when I was in college. He's a great guy, and I really like talking to him; it's making me feel like I am welcome by the fraternity again; and I left the frat with a feeling of rejection back in the day. It's nice to feel welcome again, though, and I am happy that they are welcoming me back into the fold. I am looking forward to going up, since I have been invited to, and visit with the Frat for a weekend and get to know all off the actives. I am excited about that, and that's a good thing. Thanks, Pyro.
Last night, I spoke to my pledge son, who lives outside of Detroit. He and I had a great conversation, and we haven't seen each other for 12 years. It's nice to reconstitute a friendship that used to be. It was almost like we haven't not spoken in 12 years. I hope that we meet up soon, but then again, I want to see a lot of my old college friends; some of which, I probably will in the near future.

Looking forward, looking back

A couple of weeks ago, we went away for the weekend with a couple of friends and went to Hocking Hills State Park here in Ohio. What a wonderful getaway it was. The temperature was in the lower-mid 40's during the day, which made for some excellent weather for hiking on Saturday. I took a lot of beautiful pictures on the trip and the scenery was great, not to mention the fact that I had a good time with the people that I went with. I think that this weekend was perfect for getting away from a lot of stuff and not having to worry about anything. Jeff even left his cell phone at home so we didn't have that to worry about; thankfully I might add.

A couple of things that I saw over that weekend, however, did annoy me a lot. Mainly, it was children ruining the icicles that were hanging from the rocks in the caves. They annoyed me becuase they were knocking down some beautiful additions to the scenery of Old Man's Cave. So many icicles handing overhead, or running down the walls that I was just enchanted by them. I felt badly because I found myself hoping that one of them would have an icicle smack them on top of the head; but not in a killing way like piercing their skull or anything, just tipping over and banging them on the head. I think that if I got to see something like that happen, I would have laughed for a long, long time. Oh well, maybe next time I go when it is really cold, I'll get to se something like that and feel better for watching them destroy something th tI was really enjoying.

Totally Unsure of What to Think

It's been a few weeks since I last updated, and my buddy in Holland was getting anxious for news and views from me.

There really hasn't been a lot that has been going on for me. I'm fighting, like everyone, a really bad cold that comes and goes. Some mornings, I wake up and I am congested beyond belief that when I get into the shower, a nice hot steaming shower, I break up the chest congestion and cough away; other mornings, I can't even breath through my nose until I have a nice hard sneeze. Yes, I know that this is rather gross to talk about in a public blog, but I've a very open person, so I don't hold back. :)

I have spoken to my superior at work about getting a raise for the new and extra job duties that I have been given. As he said, "I need to understand a bit better myself how your pay is structured, and what benchmarks must be met to increase your base pay." Granted, I know that with what I do, I should be making more, but since the amount of what I do with these new duties isn't as consistent as I would like, I think that I should say, I should be getting 5,would be happy with 4, but I will take 3. I think that this is a fairly even compromise, especially considering, that I keep my main duty on going while I do my new duty. I, personally, think that this is a fairly even exchange.

Okay, enough about work. For Christmas this ear, I got a PC game. I am totally addicted to this game, and I play it a lot. Instead of updating my blog from home, I am playing this game, "Heroes of Might and Magic V" by Ubisoft. It's a fun turn based RPG where I get some really cool spells to cast and come cool monsters for my Army. I play the game practically every day, even if only for 30 minutes; the sad thing is that I'm almost done. I started mission number 26 out of 30 last night, so I'm nearing the end of the game. :( Oh well, I'll just have to get the continuation of the game after I'm done with it, and I know it is available at Best Buy. :)

I spent a few hours this weekend with my lesbians. We went for Vulcon Blancos, a Hot White Chocolate with cayenne pepper, cardamon and cinnamon, at Angels Falls on Saturday. I love these two. Them make me laugh and they are so different from all other lesbians that I know. We actually have a lot in common, and if we go to go to Comic Con, I know that the idea that Jenny has for costumes is going to be really cool. I just hope that I can afford to go. We also hooked up at a bar that evening. The bar is really nice, especially since they remodeled it and I would have had a lot of fun except for the fact that it was a theme night, "The Night of 1,000,000 Britneys." *Rolls eyes* What a CF that night was with a lot of guys dressed up as Britney. Not that I have anything against Britney Spears, aside from what most people have against her. She is a good performer, but the Media makes her into such a train-wreck; not that I disagree with that assessment. I ave nothing against guys dressing up as girls, it's not my thing. Oh well, at least there was a little excitement when a guy put his hand through a frosted glass window. At least that made it a little exciting.

I'm Not That Stupid, Dammit

Today, at work, an individual sent a unit in for a lack of charging capability. In case you are unaware, I an responsible for battery replacements on the object for which I am technical support. This exact same unit has been here and had a battery replacement two months ago. the MAC address of the unit, as well the project that the unit holds are identical; not to mention the fact that when I replace a battery, I date and initial the battery. The battery within the unit had my own initials in my handwriting as well as the date that I changed the battery.
Now forgive me if I am wrong, but to me, this is a sure sign that this particular unit has already had service.
So, just to be the nice guy that I am, I decided to check the person's claims about not being able to charge while in the charging cradle; oops, I messed up thinking that they were telling me the truth about that. Once again, I am shown just how cheap, conniving and deserving of my lack of respect people can be.

First Blog

Well, I've finally broken down and decided to write a blog of sorts. I have no idea how up on it I will keep, but it never hurts to try.

I got inspired to keep a blog after reading my sister-in-law Betsy's blog. She is such a bright and brilliant woman with a lot of interesting insights that I just had to start one. Betsy, if you ever read this; "Thank you ;) I love you. You rock."

I don't really know what to say, since this is publicly viewed. I know that I should keep it clean, and that's hard for me to do, since my normal conversational vocabulary is rather on the dirty side; however, I will try my best to keep my foul language at a minimum; IE, a few "S" words, "D" words, "A" words, and maybe, the occasional "F" word when I am very frustrated, angry or in a bad mood. I will, and i warn you, be honest in what I say. I try not to hold back, and if you read this, the post concerns you, and I hurt your feelings; I apologize for that. I am just saying what I feel at that moment and time and it does not necessarily reflect my feelings towards you at the majority of the time.

Future installments coming.
